CARDIASURE™ Temperature Control Generator
ACT is currently leveraging the proprietary VERITAS™ technology platform to develop a platform of products focused on temperature measuring, temperature control, volumetric temperature and lesion control. These products will provide physicians with additional measurement and diagnostic tools to revolutionize the standard of care for cardiac ablation from procedures performed "blindly" to those that monitor tissue temperature in real time and then onward to control tissue temperature and ultimately enable complete lesion control.
The first of these future efforts is the CARDIASURE™ System, an all-new temperature control RF generator and pump solution that, when used with the TEMPASURE™ Catheter, will detect and manage temperature at depth.
The CARDIASURE™ system will use the radiometric signals from the catheter tip to manage power in order to maintain a constant tissue temperature – similar to what is done with non-irrigated procedures today (using the thermocouple signal). This will provide Electrophysiologists a steady tissue temperature for the duration of the ablation – creating a more consistent transmural lesion. The generator will include new software algorithms that will provide added safety features such as a high temperature cut-off (in order to prevent dangerous conditions like 'popping'), detection of thrombus, and others.
