TEMPASURE Cardiac Ablation Catheter

The TEMPASURE™ Catheter consists of three components: a steerable 7F catheter, an interface box, and a cable. The catheter, a temperature-sensing ablation catheter, ablates with irrigated radiofrequency (RF) energy and provides microwave radiometry feedback. This catheter is used with a standard RF generator and is similar to other irrigated EP catheters in terms of technology specifications and performance safety profiles.

The catheter's ICT (integrated catheter tip) contains circuitry for measuring the volumetric temperature of the ablated tissue using microwave radiometry and connects to the interface box via the cable to display this temperature at depth to the user. This innovative system provides the cardiologist with real-time feedback on catheter-tissue contact and tissue temperature, thus affording complete control of the lesion formation with an irrigated ablation catheter.

In-vitro studies have shown the TEMPASURE™ Catheter to have ablation characteristics comparable to the current market standard irrigated ablation catheters, but with the added benefit of real time temperature measurement and lesion control†*.
