Microwave Radiometry

Microwave radiometry, a technology for measuring electromagnetic energy considered as thermal radiation, was originally developed by one of ACT's founders, Dr. Kenneth Carr, and his colleagues during the Cold War to measure the thermal activity of the earth from space.


The technology is based on the principle that all matter emits electromagnetic energy related to its temperature, and ACT has employed it to develop an integrated catheter tip (shown in image below), using proprietary, custom-designed microwave integrated circuits and a patented antenna diplexing structure.
